• Good evening, Washington families. This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.

    Upcoming Celebrations and Testing

First, I want to thank everyone who came out last Friday for our kindergarten through fourth-grade award ceremonies. It was wonderful to celebrate our students' achievements!

Tomorrow, we're excited to celebrate our fifth-grade students at their promotion ceremony at First Baptist Church. Students should arrive by 5:00 PM. Doors will open at 5:15 PM, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.

On Monday and Tuesday, we'll be re-administering End-of-Grade tests for select students. Please help all our Washingtonians maintain a consistent sleep schedule this week to best support them with instruction and testing as we near the end of the school year.

    End of School Year Activities

Wednesday is the last day of school! On this fun day, all students will enjoy field trips:

Kindergarten is off to The Ultimate Tumbling Gym.
First grade will visit Mad Splatter.
Second grade is heading to The Ultimate Rock Climbing Gym.
Third grade will explore Proehlific Park.
Fourth grade gets to enjoy Spare Time.
Fifth grade will celebrate at Party Shack.
We'll also be sending home report cards on Wednesday.

    Important Reminders

Please note that our School Leadership Team meeting has been moved to Wednesday at 3:00 PM in the library.

If your child has medication in the front office, please pick it up by Wednesday. If your child will attend summer school at another location, you'll need to pick up their medication and take it to the summer school site on the first day. Please call the front office and ask for a medication authorization form to take with you.

We are still missing quite a few library books. Please search your homes and backpacks and send any found library books with your Washingtonian to school so they can be returned.

    Health and Wellness Tip

Your weekly health and wellness tip focuses on environmental wellness. Consider heading to a local community garden or farmers market. This is a great way for your child to see where food comes from, understand sustainable practices, connect with the community, and appreciate the value of local produce and healthy eating.

At Washington, we honor our community, show excellence, think critically, and thrive through movement. Have a great evening, and I look forward to seeing our Washingtonians bright and early tomorrow morning!
