Good evening, Washington families.
This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
Thank you to so many of our Washingtonians for logging onto Canvas last Friday and completing and submitting their assignments.
Tomorrow, Monday, January 13th, will be a remote learning day. Teachers will assign assignments in Canvas and have live meeting times with students. Please refer to your child's teacher's communication for specific times and meeting details, as well as work assignments.
This week, we will begin with DIBELS testing.
- Tuesday, January 14th: School-Based Leadership Team meeting at 3:00 PM in the Media Center.
- Thursday, January 16th: Kindergarten field trip to the Kaladium.
- Friday, January 17th: 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be taking their ELA Interim Assessment. The Medical Science Pathway will be taking a field trip to the Millis Regional Health Education Center. Our Recess Champions will be visited by the Greensboro Swarm.
Your weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is, Bundle up warmly in layers for outdoor fun. Remember to take breaks inside to warm up and stay hydrated with hot cocoa or water. Enjoy indoor activities like building a fort, playing board games, reading books together, or having a family dance party to stay active and connected.
Looking forward:
- There will be no school on January 20th in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- The last day of the quarter is January 24th.
- There will be no school on Monday, January 27th, as it is a teacher workday.
At Washington, we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically, and Thrive Through Movement.
