Good evening, Washington families. This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
First, a big thank you to everyone who joined us for the PTO carnival last Saturday! It was a fantastic event. Congratulations to Mrs. Watkins' and Mrs. Felton's classes for achieving the highest attendance – they will both enjoy pizza parties this week.
This week, March 17th-21st, is College and Career Readiness Week! Here's what we have planned:
Monday, March 17th – Dress for Success: Wear attire that makes you feel confident and successful, such as your favorite outfit, a positive message t-shirt, or a career-related outfit. Also, our golf pathway students will participate in the First Tee program at Gillespie Park. After-school tutoring will be available for select students.
Tuesday, March 18th – Bright Futures Day: Wear bright colors to symbolize a bright future. Also, Tuesday after school the SAS club Fairytales in action will be meeting.
Wednesday, March 19th – Superhero Career Day: Dress as a superhero version of your favorite career. Also on Wednesday after school the following SAS clubs will meet: Cheerleading, Culinary Arts & Etiquette, and Majorette.
Thursday, March 20th – Salute to Armed Forces Day: Wear camouflage to show your support for the armed forces. After school tutoring will be available for select students.
Friday, March 21st – Represent Your College Day: Wear a t-shirt or school colors from your favorite college or university. Friday is also picture day, and we'll have SAS flag football.
Our weekly health and wellness tip: Remember to warm up and cool down properly before and after sports activities to protect your muscles.
At Washington we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically and Thrive Through Movement.
