Good evening, Washington families,
This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
This school year we're excited to introduce Thrive Through Movement into our daily routine! By incorporating physical activity into learning, we will be helping our Washingtonians become more focused, creative, and confident. We are excited to build a healthier, happier school community together.
It was great seeing many of our Washingtonians out last Thursday for our final Summer Movie Night.
I look forward to seeing all our Washingtonians and their families out this Thursday, August 22nd for Open House This is an opportunity for students and their families to come to the building, meet their teachers, and learn more about our school. To help manage the flow we welcome students and their families to join us at the building by the first letter of their last name:
Last names beginning from A-F, from 5:00 -5:30pm
Last names beginning from G-M, from 5:30 -6:00pm
Last names beginning from N-S, from 6:00 -6:30pm
Last names beginning from T-Z, from 6:30 -7:00pm
We are still finalizing rosters and calls will go out tomorrow night notifying you of your Washingtonians class assignments for the 2024-2025 school.
Please visit our school’s Facebook page, Instagram page or website to view the supply list for this school year.
Your weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: Make physical activity a daily habit. By prioritizing movement, we can create a healthier and more productive learning environment for everyone.
As a reminder student who read (or are read to) for at least 600 minutes over summer break will receive a free ticket to one Kersey Valley Attraction (valid for general admission to Maize Adventure, Spooky Woods, or Kersey Valley Christmas). Minutes must be recorded in Beanstack by Friday, August 30th, to be eligible. Students can access Beanstack through the GCS Beanstack Landing Page by finding our school, entering their student ID number and eight-digit birthday, or by logging onto Clever.com/in/GCS.
At Washington, we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically, and Thrive Through Movement. Have a great evening and we’ll see you this Thursday for Open House.
