• Good evening, Washington Families,

This is principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.

As a reminder, tomorrow is a teacher workday, there will be no school tomorrow for students.

On Thursday, our Recess Champions will be taking a field trip to Greensboro Swarm Fieldhouse.

On Friday we will have innovation day for our 3rd - 5th graders.

Rising 6th graders online registration in PowerSchool will be open from February 14th to February 23rd. During this time, parents and students can log in to select 6th grade elective courses for the 2025-2026 school year. On Thursday, February 13th, students received a brown envelope with online course selection instructions. Families also received a paper registration form as an alternative. If you choose to complete the paper form, Mrs. Taylor, the school counselor, can assist with entering selections into PowerSchool.

Your Weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: Your mouth is the gateway to your health.  As the entry point for food and air, harmful oral bacteria can travel throughout your body, potentially contributing to serious health issues like heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory infections.  Regular dental checkups and cleanings are crucial for early detection and prevention of these problems.

Looking ahead: Interim Reports will go home on February 26th and Career Parent Day will be on February 27th. Also, mark your calendars for our PTO Movie Night and Summer Camp Fair on Friday, February 28th at 5:30pm.

At Washington we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically. Have a great evening and let’s continue to Thrive Through Movement.
