Good evening, Washington families. This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
I hope all our Washingtonians enjoyed a wonderful spring break, whether you explored local gems or ventured out of Greensboro. We invite you to visit our Facebook page to see some of the exciting places our Washington community visited. Feel free to comment on any post and share your photos or videos of your spring break adventures! Please mark your calendars for this Friday at 5:30 PM for our next PTO movie night, featuring "The Wild Robot." We'll have hot dogs, chips, and drinks available for all our Washingtonians in attendance.
Also, this Friday, our kindergarten and fifth-grade students will be taking their cap and gown pictures.
In addition, we're excited to host Field Day this Friday! Our kindergarten and second grade field day activities will run from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM, and the field day for our third through fifth graders will begin at 12:00 PM. All parents interested in volunteering during Field Day are encouraged to reach out to their child's teacher.
Friday will also be the final games for our flag football team, and as a reminder, our PTO movie night starts at 5:30 PM.
Your weekly health and wellness tip for this week is: Practice active listening and empathy. Make a conscious effort to truly understand each other's perspectives and respond with empathy. This will help us navigate any potential end-of-year stress and strengthen our relationships within the Washington community.
Finally, please mark your calendar for Science Night on May 13th, which is proudly sponsored by the Greensboro Science Center.
At Washington, we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically and Thrive Through Movement. Have a great evening, and I look forward to seeing our Washingtonians bright and early tomorrow morning.
