    Course Purpose/Objectives:

    This course introduces students to the use of Graphic and Animation tools/software to better understand technical, mathematical, and scientific concepts of Computer-generated Imagery (CGI) used in Games, Movies, and TV.

     

    This is the prerequisite course for Advanced Game Art Design. These curriculum paths are entertaining and provide the basis for interesting and enjoyable careers.

     

    Performance-Based Objectives:

    Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

    •  demonstrate computer hardware and course-related software.
    •  perform basic design and layout of visual projects/games.

     

     

     

     

    Prerequisites: CD20 3D Modeling & Animation-I

     

    Student Supplies: Pencil & Loose-leaf notebook paper

     

    Cell Phone & Other Student Electronics Policy: They are NOT to be used, be visible, or be charged in the classroom, unless use is requested by the Teacher.  They are to be placed in a container separated from the student.

     

    Food Policy: The classroom is a Computer Lab. NO food or beverage is permitted to be consumed or to be placed on the lab table near computer equipment.  Water (in a plastic bottle having a screw-top) with no additives may be consumed, but it may not be placed on the lab table near computer equipment.

     

    Grading: the following categories are ALL considered to be LABs in Power School, and together contribute 80% of the Course Grade:  Classwork     Homework       Unit Reviews

     

    A PBM (Project-Based Measurement) in the form of a Portfolio of Student Projects is used in place of a Final Exam and contributes 20% of the Course Grade.
