Mrs. Conchar-Mabe

My name is Cathryn Conchar-Mabe but the students call me Mrs. Mabe. I came to SGHS in January 2022 as a BSN prepared registered nurse to teach the Nursing Fundamentals with Practicum Honor course. I earned my degree at St. Louis University. I also worked as a neonatal nurse practitioner for 25 years. This course prepares students to become certified nurse assistants I in the state of North Carolina. I also teach one of 3 health science courses; Foundations of Health Science Honors. Health Science I Honors and Health Science II Honors. I have over 40 years experience as a working RN before joining SGHS as a CTE Health Science teacher. I share my insights as a professional nurse with my students as they prepare for the possibility of a health care career. I really enjoy the challenges and rewards of teaching.
