For the past six years, Harvey has worked as a School Transformation Coach for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in the Division of District and School Transformation.

While working for NCDPI, he was responsible for providing district-wide professional development on the new common core standards, facilitating state-wide leadership professional development, and coaching school leaders in developing and implementing high impact school improvement initiatives. This work has also allowed him to evaluate schools and districts by conducting Comprehensive Needs Assessments and providing feedback on School Improvement Plans. He has collaborated to write state leadership coaching procedures and protocols.

Harvey is a proud alumni of Hampton University. He enjoys activities with his family, playing golf, tennis and reading. He is excited to be in Guilford County and is eager to improve the lives of children.
