    The district’s only approved crowdfunding platform is easy to use and an excellent resource to help fund classroom projects.

    Students with new titles for their home collections.Since the district began partnering with DonorsChoose in 2005, GCS teachers have received more than $1.75 million to fund projects in their classrooms. 

    Who can participate in DonorsChoose?

    Teachers or other school staff members who spend at least 75% of their day directly with students are eligible.

    GCS requires educators interested in DonorsChoose to complete a virtual one-hour DonorsChoose training once a year prior to posting projects.

    Principal approval always required: 

    Teachers are required to secure principal approval for any DonorsChoose projects prior to posting.

    NEW starting July 1, 2021:

    The district has adopted a new process for DonorsChoose to make it easier for teachers to participate.

    Teachers will attend a one-hour virtual training through the Grants Acquisition Office. Once training is completed, teachers are approved to use DonorsChoose for the entire year.

    While principal approval is still required for projects, teachers completing training will no longer have to submit online project approval and outcome forms for each project to the Grants Acquisition Office.

    Choose a sessions that fits your schedule and goals:

    • Get trained before school starts. The Grants Acquisition Office is offering eight live one-hour Summer Special training sessions, beginning Monday, July 26, and running through Thursday, Aug. 5, that will get you ready to post projects before the new school year starts.
    • Ease into DonorsChoose once school starts. Sign up for an after-school training offered twice a month from September-November and January through April.
