College Admissions
The SAT and ACT are college admissions exams required by some universities and accepted by all.
In addition to high school grades, course load, extracurricular activities, application essays, letters of recommendation, and AP/IB tests, colleges use SAT and ACT scores to assess a student's college readiness.
While excellent SAT or ACT scores will not secure a spot in a top-ranked school, a less than average score is bound to hurt, particularly at larger schools where SAT and ACT scores are considered as a selective component.
