Dr. Contreras with the Brown Summit custodial staff
  • Every Guilford County Schools employee makes a difference in our students' lives. Custodians are tasked with ensuring all our schools and facilities are clean and safe. In addition, many of our custodians are mentors and role models for many our students. They do so by greeting them with a smile every day.

The mission of a custodian is to ensure that all schools are safe and clean. When a school is well maintained, it provide a positive working and learning environment. This directly affects all staff, students, visitors and the community.

Indoor and outdoor areas should always look as if they had just been cleaned. This standard can only be achieved through careful time management, and hard work. Custodial Services Department is here to assist you in the proper methods of custodial operations.

The Custodial Services Department has a wide range of resources. We will work closely with schools administrators to ensure the best practices are being used.
