  • Ragsdale High School is proud to announce Michael Zeigler, a senior on the men's lacrosse team, as this week's Athlete of the Week.

In a conference matchup against Grimsley High School last week, Michael scored the first goal of his high school career. What made the moment even more special was that it came during the final moments of the game, as Grimsley played with an empty net. When the ball hit the back of the goal, both teams erupted in excitement, celebrating a truly heartwarming highlight.

This season marks Michael's first time participating in a sport at Ragsdale, making his achievement even more memorable. The pride and joy he felt were shared by his coaches, teammates, and the entire Ragsdale community. Even the next day, Michael’s enthusiasm lit up the hallways of the school, a reminder of why education-based athletics are so vital. Moments like these are about much more than wins and losses — they are about sportsmanship, teamwork, and creating lifelong memories.

Head Coach Hayden Seal shared his excitement for Michael’s recognition, saying,
"Michael is a great student-athlete. He is the heart and soul of our team. He never fails to make the entire team bust out laughing. Michael continues to improve as a lacrosse player every day. His plans to continue playing in adult club leagues after high school are awesome to hear."

Congratulations to Michael Zeigler on his incredible accomplishment and for embodying the spirit of Ragsdale Tiger pride!
