My name is Suzanne Hedberg, and I began my career in public education more than 20 years ago. While working in both North Carolina and Florida, I have served as a middle and high school mathematics teacher, K-12 Staff Developer, Curriculum Facilitator, Multi-Classroom Leader and I am entering my tenth year as an assistant principal.
After graduating from Guilford County Schools, I attended Appalachian State University where I earned a bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in secondary mathematics. I obtained my master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of South Florida and completed doctoral studies at both the University of South Florida and Nova Southeastern University where I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree.
On the weekends, you can find me spending time with my family, including my 24-year-old son and two kitties. The mountains bring me peace and I enjoy being outdoors.
I love being at Northeast Guilford Middle School. Our students and staff have so much potential, and with dedication and hard work, all students will learn and achieve their dreams. Every day, I come to work to serve the students of NEMS because I truly believe in the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
