Hello 8th grade Northeast Guilford students and families! 

My name is Ms. Aisha Santos and I am one of the new 8th grade ELA teachers here at NEMS. I am very excited about joining the "RAM-ily" and look forward to teaching all of my students. I have been an educator for over 18 years and absolutely love what I do!  For the 1st 13 years of my career, I taught elementary, middle, and high school. For the last 5 years, I was an assistant principal in Iredell-Statesville Schools, leading and serving students at the high school and middle school levels. 

I have four certifications (K-5, Middle School ELA 6-8, HS English 9-12, Principal License) and three degrees: AA in Liberal Arts-Education from Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ, BA in Elementary Education from Kean University in Union, NJ, MA in English from UNCG, and my School Administration certificate from Appalachian State in Boone. 

I am originally from Brooklyn, New York, born and raised. I am 1st generation, both of my parents are from Puerto Rico, and I am proud of my heritage. I have three children, two daughters and one son, ages 29, 24, and 18. I also have one granddaughter, age 10. I absolutely love spending time with my family and significant other. I also love traveling, bowling, playing pool, and writing, specifically poetry. 

This is going to be an amazing year here at NEMS. GOOOOOO RAMS!!!!!
