• Go Vikings! This year marks my 29th year in education and I will be teaching Honors NC Math 1.  Beyond Math 1 and Foundations of Math 2 at NWHS, I also taught 7th and 8th grade math courses including standard math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Common Core Math 1 and II, NC Math 1 and NC Math 2.  I am excited for the opportunity to work with your student!

Along with my MEd degree from UNCG, I am a National Board Certified teacher in Early Adolescent Mathematics with an added NC licensure in Gifted Education from High Point University.  In 2006 I was one of two teachers selected state-wide to represent NC as a participant in the Fulbright Memorial Program which is a 4-week intensive cultural exchange in Japan.  I was also Teacher of the Year in 2014 at Kernodle Middle School and Guilford County Council of PTAs Annie Ray Riffey Outstanding Middle School Educator Award in 2001.

Before I transitioned to Kernodle Middle in 2002, I started teaching at Jamestown Middle where I met my husband who has now retired from NWMS.  I taught at KMS for three years, transferred to NWMS as my husband's boys were moving through, and then returned back to KMS.  After 25 years at middle school level, I transitioned to high school teaching.

As a Boston native, I love the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics and Patriots!  Boston Strong!
