GCS students experiencing a crisis of any kind— anxiety, depression, abuse, suicidal thoughts, food insecurity, etc., are urged to call GCS Youth Crisis Hotline at 336-332-7295 to speak with a mental health professional. The hotline is open daily from 7 am until midnight.

    If you failed 1 or more courses,

    be sure to attend summer school to stay on track for graduation!


    5th Quarter Dates:

    Rising Seniors and fourth year students will attend 5th Quarter on June 14th-July 1st

    Rising 10th-11th graders will attend 5th Quarter July 12th-July 29th

    When you register, you will see the options below. Please select the appropriate option.

    Sessions for students are offered by invitation only to recover course credits.  


    Students report to campus Monday through Thursday and work for a minimum of 4 hours each day.  

    The instructional day is 9am-1:30pm.

    Daily completion of assignments is mandatory.  

    Confirmation of successful course completions will be sent to the parent’s email address. 

    Summer School Teachers will monitor student progress, provide weekly progress updates, and student support.   

    Students who do not make adequate progress within the first week will be dropped from the course to avoid additional course failure.

    Rehearsal is at the Coliseum

    June 2nd at 7 pm (Arrive by 6-6:30)


    Graduation Ceremony is at the Coliseum 

    June 7th at 8:30 am (Arrive by 7)

     Other courses still have "Teacher-Made" exams which will be announced by your teachers.

    Can students be exempt from exams?

    Yes, students can be exempt from teacher-made exams ONLY at this time. If a student has an A (90-100) in the class they may be exempt.

    Do students have to come in-person to test?

    Yes, all GCS Final Exams and EOCs are required to be taken in-person

    How much will the exam weigh?

    It VARIES. GCS Final Exams will count as 20% of the final grade, IF it helps the student’s grade. EOCs will count as 20% but we may receive additional guidance.

    GCS Final Exams will be online assessments that will be accessed via Performance Matters (administration guide attached).
