Reproductive Health and Safety Education is a standard portion of North Carolina's required health education for all public school students. Classes are scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Mr. Minervini's 7th and 8th grade students will have homework that requires a parent's signature. The parent signature requirement helps to bridge communication from school to parents at home. Grade 6 students will begin class on or around September 16, 2024. Grade 6 students will receive only three to four days of instruction.
All students will return to P.E. once the Reproductive Health and Safety Education / Family Life lessons are completed. The Reproductive Health and Safety Education grades will be combined with the P.E. grade for the grading period. Students are encouraged to complete any missed assignments if they are absent.
Letters to notify parents were provided to parents during Open House. Additional letters will be sent home with students during the first week of school to allow parents the opportunity to preview the curriculum lessons (Friday, September 1, 2023) prior to implementation (Tuesday, September 5, 2023).
