Ms. Tanya Hiller

Background

I am so excited to serve the students and families of our Lincoln community. I began my teaching career many moons ago (1994) at Southwest High School. There I taught English and Theatre, and I treasure all of the memories that fostered and nurtured my love for students, for learning, and for community. In 2006, I moved to Northwest High School where I taught 9th and 11th grade English for two years before becoming a Curriculum Facilitator at Southeast High School. I earned my Masters in School Administration in 2010, and transitioned into an Assistant Principal role at Northwest Middle School. My longest stay in an Assistant Principal role was at Northwest High School (2011-2020). As GCS transitioned to remote learning amidst the pandemic, I moved to The Academy at Lincoln where I met students, teachers, and families via a computer screen. Our Lincoln community is a great place to work and learn! I believe strongly that school should be a safe and nurturing place for ALL students, and I love working with teachers and staff to build relationships with students and families that extend outside the walls of our building. From theatre and dance to modern music, Spanish, Rubik's Cube Club, basketball, track, and Science fair..... there is SOMETHING for EVERYONE at The Academy at Lincoln!

I am originally from the mountains of NC, so I spend my “off time” with my Momma at her cabin on the river. I love to read and hike and spend time with my now adult kids, Avery and Spencer.
