GCS students experiencing a crisis of any kind— anxiety, depression, abuse, suicidal thoughts, food insecurity, etc., are urged to call GCS Youth Crisis Hotline at 336-332-7295 to speak with a mental health professional.
The hotline is open daily from 7 am until midnight.

Semester Fall Final Exam Testing Window: January 5th -8th
Semester Fall EOC Window: January 11th -15th
EOCs are required to be taken in-person. So we will be hosting these assessments on site Monday, January 11th- Friday, January 15th (this also includes CTE assessments) for our students who are taking semester/block courses.
NCFEs have been retired by the state of NC. However, Schools are required to use GCS Final Exams for all corresponding courses:
Civics and Economics
American History 1
American History 2
Earth and Environmental
Each GCS Final Exam will be available within the Performance Matters platform as on online secure test and will be administered remotely (attached are the directions for students) for the Fall Semester. Students should be allowed 2 hours to complete each assessment. There will be no constructed response items on any final exams. Online calculators will be available, but students may use hand-held calculators. Text-to-speech is available on all final exams except English I, III, and IV. The GCS Final Exams are not connected to teacher evaluation (EVAAS).

Are you having a hard time navigating Canvas? Canvas is a web-based educational system that is used by educators and students to access and manage online course learning, materials and communicate about public instruction. GCS’ Guilford Parent Academy is collaborating with Blended Learning and GCS’ teachers to offer virtual live help on the Canvas platform. Parents will have the opportunity to receive live help and support to strengthen their skills on Canvas. Parents can ask their questions or share any concerns for feedback.
