Greetings from Pamela Herndon!

I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve as ELA lead / curriculum facilitator at Jamestown Middle School.  My areas of focus include ELA coaching, academically gifted students, multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), induction and success, Tiger Time, and the spelling bee. I share my position with the math lead / curriculum facilitator, Allison Finch, and our shared areas include testing, professional learning communities (PLCs), and the accreditation process (SACS). I have been teaching for over 26 years and have taught middle school, high school, and college; I have also served as a student teacher supervisor and trained and coached new teachers.  I have been working at JMS since 2010.  I earned my BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, added a teaching certificate and Master's degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studied a full year abroad at the University of Manchester (England), and earned and renewed my certification from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.  I am married and have two sons and a daughter-in-law, who all live in Guilford County.
