Welcome to Mr. Baker's Social Studies classroom website! 

This year we will work on lots of fun and challenging historical thinking skills. We begin by focusing on themes and strands of geography to give us a solid foundation of our course.  We then look at Early Man and prehistory before moving into our River Valley Civilizations - Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, and China.  We will study the Greeks, Romans, and Byzantines, as well as the Islamic Empires.  We will wrap up our course with the Middle Ages and Indigenous Americans.  

In addition to our curriculum, we will also blend character education into our lessons to help produce the best all-around sixth-graders we can be.
