Greetings, my name is Mr. James "Robert" McKnight. I am a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he received a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Management.   

After graduation, I launched my career working at Bank of America, where I began my specialization in finance and management.  This led me to become a southeastern region dealer finance auditor.  This experience led to a three-year position as branch financial service representative with SunTrust financial institution.  In 2001, I left the finance industry to pursue my passion for educating young people and communities.  

While working as a mathematics teacher in the Greensboro area, I was able to use his expertise in finance and developed a math curriculum that elevated my students’ knowledge.  I have had the privilege of serving as a Math Curriculum Specialist in Guilford County, Curriculum Facilitator, and Math Coach.  I am so excited about doing what I love, which is being a classroom Math teacher! 

I am a single father of two teenagers, and I also serve as the president of the Men’s Ministry at my church as well as a member of various advisory boards that have the youth and our communities’ best interest identified.
