Dear Early/Middle College GTCC Greensboro Families,
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of the Early/Middle College at GTCC-Greensboro. I am delighted to join such an amazing school family and I share in this community’s commitment to providing an excellent education for all students.
I am a Greensboro native and proud GCS graduate. Growing up, I attended Oak Ridge Elementary, Northwest Middle, Northwest High, and Greensboro College Middle College. For college, I attended GTCC, UNCG, & UNCW.
My husband, Rollie, and I have been married 17 years and we have two children. Our son, Daniel, age 11, will begin middle school this fall and our daughter, Ella, age 7, will be in 2nd grade. My family looks forward to meeting you all soon!
The 2024-2025 school year will mark my 18th year in education. My educational experience includes over ten years teaching exclusively in Title I schools. After teaching, I served as an assistant principal for 4 years & this will be my 4th year as a principal.
I firmly believe that all students can achieve at high levels when given equity of access and opportunity in a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment. Positive relationships are important to me, which is why I strive to visit classrooms and interact with students and stakeholders daily. As a principal, I enjoy coaching teachers, increasing their leadership capacity, and supporting their professional goals too.
My leadership approach is student-centered, collaborative, and data-driven with a focus on growth and equity. Every decision I make is in our students' best interest & aimed at helping everyone achieve their full potential.
I am collaborating with staff now to make a transition to the Early/Middle College at GTCC Greensboro. As we begin the 2024-2025 academic year on August 6, 2024, let’s begin by working together to ensure that every student can receive a high-quality education and graduate ready for college, career and life.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! I hope you have a wonderful summer full of adventure and fun! If you are near the school this summer, please stop by and say hello.
To our parents & families, I look forward to working alongside you to help your child achieve their goals! Please know that my door is always open to you, and I wholeheartedly welcome your feedback and input.
To our community, I look forward to partnering with you to positively impact the lives of our students! Thank you for your continued support.
Let us always keep our students the primary focus of our work. I look forward to celebrating our collective successes throughout our journey together.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ashley Garcia
