Mr. George McCormick

Greetings Trojan Nation,

I am proud to serve as the New Community in Schools Site Coordinator here at Ferndale Middle School. This school year I plan to inspire and encourage students to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom. My goal for the 2021- 2022 academic year is to build solid relationships with students, staff and parents. It is also my goal to create a safe and nurturing environment that allows all students the opportunity to learn.

I attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, Greensboro NC where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Systems. Shortly after I began a master’s degree in Technology there, but soon realized that was not my calling. I transitioned to seminary. I attended Shaw University Divinity School, Raleigh, NC where I earned a Master’s in Divinity. I'm currently in the dissertation phase of my Doctorate of Theology degree program. If all goes well, I will defend in Spring 2022.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I consider my hobbies bowling, playing sports, and riding my Harley Davidson- Street Glide.
