More About Me

  • My name is Maria Nwabueze. I am a wife, teacher, mother, entrepreneur and the list goes on. I teach in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department at HPC. I am a graduate of the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I always tell my students that I have double Bison Pride, from being a student at HPC to now being a teacher at HPC.

So far, one of the greatest contributions/ accomplishments I have, is to have built so many positive relationships and to have spread so much love and respect to the students and community in High Point, which in turn reaches the masses. From former students who have journeyed back to visit me, to the thanks I have received from parents, I believe that positive social interactions will help the world become a better place. Being real with students, giving them advice for the future and just being a positive role-model carries a weight that is far more measurable than the grades reflected in PowerSchool. Learning about the way I am viewed, hearing about the impact I have made on the lives of my students so far and hearing the students “come alive” and express themselves in their notes to me, outweighs all of the stresses that comes with teaching high school. I am a proud Bison and I truly love my job! This was one of the best decisions I could have ever made in my life. I thank God for this wonderful opportunity!
