Communities in Schools (CIS) is a Non-Profit, United Way, agency that connects public, private, and volunteer sectors of the community to High Point Central on behalf of the students and families. The mission of CIS is: “to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.”

CIS helps students achieve in life by implementing programs like 21st Century Scholars. The 21st Century Scholars Program is the college access and career exploration component of CIS. Another component of Communities In Schools is partnering with Human service providers, volunteers, business owners, school staff, and counselors through a collaborative effort striving to help children successfully learn, stay in school and prepare for life. The 21st Century Scholars program offers various enriching experiences such as mentors, guest speakers, college visits, field trips, job shadowing, financial aid information and competitive last dollar scholarships upon completion of high school and the requirements of the 21st Century Scholars program.

Mr. Terrel Moore is the CIS coordinator for our school. If you have further questions about the program or if you would like for your child to join please feel free to email Mr. Moore at mooret9@gcsnc.com or Ms. Lilliam at tercerl@gcsnc.com. PLEASE NOTE: A referral does not automatically guarantee CIS enrollment.
