About Me!
My name is Kristi Scheeerer. I am a mother of two beautiful children, Brandon and Lauren, and two wonderful step-children, Caitlin and Declan. My husband is Eric Scheerer and we live in High Point, N.C. I have my undergraduate degree from Winthrop University (RockHill, S.C) and my graduate degree from Salem College (Winston-Salem, N.C.). I have been working with and teaching young children since 1996.
I began teaching Kindergarten at Johnson Street Global Studies in 2013. Before that, I taught Kindergarten for Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and also taught a Four Year Old class and Readiness Kindergarten class at St. Paul's Preschool in Winston-Salem.
I LOVE KINDERGARTEN!! It is my calling and passion. I believe that ALL children can learn and succeed. I believe that your child's culture, race, ethnicity, religion, and creed are important. We are so fortunate at Johnson Street to have a large variety of cultures, races, ethnic groups, creeds, and religions. We are truly a "Global" school. I believe that all people need to be treated with respect and kindness. I model and teach this in my classroom every day. Along with the 3 "academic" R's (reading, writing, arithmetic), I also teach the 3 "Social" R's: Respect, responsibility, and relationships. We are a community of learners in my classroom. As a parent or guardian, you are a vital part of our team and learning community. By working together, respecting one another, taking personal responsibility for our actions and words, and building positive relationships with one another, we become an AMAZING Kindergarten family.
I look forward to our partnership and a lifelong relationship with your family. The Kindergarten year is THE BEST year!!
