Upcoming Spring Dances- Save the date! 

  • 7/8th Grade SPRING DANCE: Friday, March 21st from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • 6th Grade SPRING DANCE: Friday, April 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM
  • Tickets are $5 and are sold ONLY in advance. 2 weeks of no minor or major infractions prior to the dance is required to attend. Permission slips will be sent home with your student a week prior to the dance.

A Note from our School Counselors

On Thursday, March 20, eighth grade students who will attend Northwest or Western Guilford High will meet in-person with a counselor. Please be sure to turn in a signed registration form to your 8th grade social studies teacher. Also, this week, seventh and sixth grade students will bring home a printout of their course requests for you to review. Please contact your child’s counselor to make any changes.

End of Quarter 3

We want to remind all students and their families that the end of 3rd quarter will be Friday, March 28. There are only 56 days remaining in the 2024-2025 school year. Please continue to work hard, study, and do your best!

Upcoming Student Data Day Conferences: Monday, March 31

Join us for our student-led data conference on Monday, March 31st to review their data for ELA and Math. Conferences will be held at 9:00am or 1:00pm. Choose a time that works for your family and RSVP by Monday, March 24th.  If you have questions let us know.

If your student is absent, attendance notes should be turned in within three days of returning to school.

Save the Date for the Upcoming Kernodle Spring Book Fair 

Join us for our upcoming Book Fair running from Thursday, March 20th to Friday, March 28th! This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore new books and discover a love for reading.

Parents and grandparents are invited to shop after school on Thursday, March 20th and Tuesday, March 25th from 3:30 - 4:30.

Don't forget to put money on your child's e-wallet via the Kernodle bookfair link to make shopping easy and fun! 

Every purchase supports our school and encourages a lifelong love of reading.

The High Point Missions of Mercy Foundation is hosting a two-day event on March 28-29, 2025, at William Memorial CME Church located at 3400 Triangle Lake Road, High Point, NC 27265.  This free clinic is for adults only. Doors open at 6:00am. Services are free and no-registration required. During this time, free dental services will be provided including cleanings, fillings, and extractions will be available to individuals in need.  For more information go to ncdentalfoundation.org.

Reminder from our Fine Arts Department

Don't forget about the 7th and 8th Grade Band Concert on Tuesday, March 4th in the commons. Students should arrive at school by 5:30 PM, and the concert starts at 6 PM. Please come out to support our band students! 

Upcoming Field Trip Reminders:

Some of our 6th and 7th grade students will be attending the ACC Game at the Coliseum this Friday, March 7th.  8th Grade Families: If your student is attending the CTE Career Day in Charlotte, North Carolina your student needs to bring $20 for concessions. Please be at the school by 9:45pm for pick-up. Additional reminders will be shared during our mid-week connect ed.

Thank you to our Parents and School Community:

Thank you to our school community for your support of our outreach initiatives.  With your help we were able to donate $1, 361.00 to the Glioblastoma Foundation in honor of our beloved teacher Mrs. Tolodziecki. We were also able to donate socks to Grimsley Army JROTC and support a family in need with baby supplies.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Ramadan Starts February 28

As we enter Ramadan, we want to make sure that all of our students are supported. If your student has any special needs, please be sure to communicate with your grade level administrator.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce that Picture Day with Life Touch is just around the corner! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to capture their smiles and create lasting memories.

Picture Day is Tuesday, March the 11th, and it is for all students who wish to have their photograph taken. Students will be given the opportunity to visit the photographers. 

Please ensure that your child comes dressed in their best attire and ready for a fun day of pictures! If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out. Thank you for your continued support!

Read Across America Spirit Week

Join us in celebrating Read Across America Week! This exciting event encourages students and families to discover the joy of reading and the magic of books. As part of our activities, we invite you to participate in our Read Across America Spirit Week:  

Monday: Read a book about animals.

Tuesday: Read about a place you’ve never been.

Wednesday: Read about an influential athlete.

Thursday: Read a book for inspiration.  

Friday: Read your favorite book.
