Mr. Kevin McRae

Welcome, Jaguar Nation! I am extremely elated to be the 7th Grade Assistant Principal at Hairston Middle School for the 2020-2021 school year! This is my second year, and I am looking forward to growing with each and every one of you!

I am a Greensboro native and a proud graduate of Northeast High School in McLeansville, NC. While attending, I played many sports, which led me to become a coach and even a referee. As a coach and a referee, I have still had to impart wisdom on many kids through something I love myself.

After high school, I attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in print journalism. This degree allowed me to teach middle school ELA, High School English, Yearbook and Newspaper. Years later, I decided to get my Masters in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and decided to become an administrator. Now that I am entering my 17^th year in education, with all but one year, working for the great district of Guilford County Schools, I truly feel I have found my purpose.

I am also a proud father of two sons, Christion (16) and Caydon (9). Both of them attend schools in this district. They are my heartbeat, and all that I do is because of them! If I am not with them, you can find me relaxing at the lake writing or in the park walking miles.

I truly look forward to this being a wonderful year for all of us, and I can’t wait for everything to come to fruition!
