Charlie Smith

I am excited to work alongside the students, parents, and staff in the EGMS Wildcats’ community for another school year. This will be my seventh year serving as an Assistant Principal and I look forward to learning and growing with our students.

A native of LaGrange, NC, I earned a bachelor's degree from Elon University where I majored in History/Pre-Law with a minor in music. Upon graduating, I pursued a successful career in retail with Bed Bath and Beyond before returning to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where I earned a master's degree in Education. I have served as a Social Studies teacher and athletic coach at both Northern Guilford and Swann Middle School. I was selected to participate in High Point University’s second Leadership Academy Cohort where I obtained a Master's in Educational Leadership. When I’m not in school, I enjoy golfing, drumming and motorcycle riding. I also love spending time with my wife and two children, Elena (12) and Charlie (9).
