Welcome To 4th Grade at McNair Elementary School

     My name is Rhonda Skopelitis.  I am a 4th Grade teacher at McNair Elementary School.  I teach Math, Science and Social Studies.  This is my 21st year teaching elementary school.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with students at McNair Elementary School.  It is my goal to increase student achievement through hands on instruction.  I relate each skill students are learning to the real world.  It is important for children to learn to apply the skill to their own lives.

     I am a wife and proud mother of three children.  My son, Caleb is 18 and pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  My daughter, Kelsey is a sophomore in high school.  My youngest daughter, Carson is a freshman in high school.  Spending time with my family is very important to me.  I am most happy when we are spending time with my parents and my sister's family during the holidays.  

     My hobbies include making crafts and decorating.  I enjoy painting furniture and old items.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading DYI magazines to learn new ideas.  

     My favorite restaurant is Texas Road House.  Yummy!  I also enjoy eating and shopping at Cracker Barrel.  

     My family enjoys spending time at Oak Island.  I love to feel the sand between my toes and watch the sun set over beautiful waves.  

     I teach because I want to make a positive difference in the lives of children.  Together, we can make the world a better place.
