    In addition, all GCS students have access to Greensboro and High Point Public Library resources through the GOALS partnership. Students can borrow books from any Greensboro or High Point library branch as well as access digital resources through the library websites. This partnership also offers students access to the NC Kids Digital Library for expanded eBook and audiobook options. More information about the program and tutorials for accessing library website resources are available on the GCS Library Media Services webpage.

    Along with promoting reading, as Library Media Specialist I want to provide students with opportunities and activities that allow them to work collaboratively, think critically, and find ways to utilize the resources available to them to imagine, create, design and share their ideas.

    It is my goal to provide a welcoming atmosphere for our students where they can discover favorite books and authors and to develop a collection that provides opportunities for students to see themselves reflected in literature and have exposure to books that provide them with "windows" and "doors" into other cultures, experiences, and worlds.

    I work to continually improve the quality of the library collection through purchasing new, relevant, diverse books that students will enjoy reading for pleasure and information.

    The focus of our Library Program is to support students and staff in learning and teaching by creating an environment that…

    • Encourages a love of reading and an appreciation for learning, exploration, building and design, as well as literature;
    • Fosters critical thinking skills to find, evaluate and use information;
    • Facilitates access to quality curricular resources and tools.

    JMS Circulation Policy
