Welcome to Our Classroom!
Behavior Chart and Rewards System
In our classroom, we use a behavior chart to encourage consistency in positive behavior. Each student has the opportunity to earn a star each day for following classroom rules and demonstrating good behavior.
- Weekly Reward:
At the end of each week, students who have earned a star every day will choose a special prize from our prize box. - Goal:
This system promotes accountability and responsibility, helping students understand how their actions impact themselves and others. By recognizing and rewarding good behavior, we motivate students to consistently make thoughtful and kind decisions throughout the year.
An example of the behavior chart can be found at the bottom of this page.
My Teaching Style
My approach to teaching is guided by two key philosophies:
-
Personalized Learning:
- I tailor the learning experience to each child’s needs, interests, and abilities.
- Every student is unique, and I aim to create a flexible and dynamic learning environment.
- Through one-on-one instruction and differentiated activities, I ensure all students feel supported, challenged, and engaged.
-
Collaborative Learning:
- I believe in the power of students working together to solve problems, create projects, and explore ideas.
- Activities such as group discussions and teamwork help students develop academic skills as well as essential social skills like communication, cooperation, and respect.
Classroom Environment
Creating a nurturing and supportive environment is at the heart of my teaching. I strive to ensure every student feels valued, respected, and loved every day.
-
Calm Down Corner:
Our classroom includes a dedicated calm down corner where students can go if they feel overwhelmed or frustrated. This space allows them to:- Calm their minds.
- Practice emotional regulation.
- Return to learning feeling refreshed and ready.
-
Mutual Respect:
- While I am a kind and understanding teacher, I believe in the importance of mutual respect.
- Bullying, mean words, teasing, or false statements will not be tolerated.
- When mistakes happen, I address them with empathy and understanding, using the opportunity to teach students how to make better choices in the future.
A Safe Space for Students and Parents
My classroom is a safe space for both students and parents.
