Greetings!
Greetings STEM Early College at N.C. A & T students and families,
I am so excited to be beginning here as the new principal of STEM Early College. Please allow me to share a little about my career as an educator. I am a native of North Carolina and proud former student of Guilford County Schools. I graduated from Ragsdale High School. After high school, I attended Winston Salem State University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I graduated with a master’s degree in School Administration from Cambridge College in Boston, MA. I also earned a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. My educational career started in Newport News, VA as an elementary teacher for six years, then a middle school teacher for four years. Upon return to North Carolina, I taught middle school math and science at Welborn Middle School. As an educator who believed in empowering students and teachers to become leaders, I continued my career pathway as a school administrator. I become an assistant principal at Allen Jay Middle School before becoming the principal of Triangle Lake Montessori in High Point. During my time at Triangle Lake, I was honored to be named as Guilford County Schools’ Elementary Principal of the Year and the District Principal of the Year 2009-2010. From TLM, I have enjoyed being the principal of Greensboro College Middle College for the past seven years. I have to say, that working at all three levels of public school has helped me to become a better principal. I have had the opportunity to see how students start in school and how they finish. I realize how important educators are in shaping the lives of students. I am looking forward to working with the entire team of staff, students, and parents to ensure the students of STEM Early College have an excellent educational experience.
Respectfully,
Ms. C. Keels, EdS
