Statement from Superintendent Maurice "Mo" Green
“The Guilford County Schools family has been greatly impacted by the tragic incident that took place in Pleasant Garden yesterday. We know many of our students, staff and families county-wide are struggling. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families, and with all those whose lives they have touched.
“The district had crisis teams in place today at the affected schools to provide support to those who need it. These teams will remain in place tomorrow. To help our students feel more secure, we encourage them to attend school and use the support that is being provided to them if needed. We also are working with community providers to ensure that this support continues to be made available during the upcoming Thanksgiving break.
“The district will provide updates as appropriate through the GCS website and district-sponsored social media sites. Again, our hearts go out to all involved.”
