Board Approves Interim Budget
The Guilford County Board of Education approved an interim budget to sustain operations until the 2016-17 budget can be finalized.
Earlier this month, the Guilford county Board of Commissioners adopted a budget that included $188,360,398 local fund and $6,000,000 for capital outlay. However, without the state’s final budget GCS cannot finalize its budget for the 2016-17 school year. Until that time, GCS will operate under the 2015-16 budget using the funds provided by the county.
The 2016-17 fiscal year begins July 1, 2016.
