My name is Jonathan Ball and I am excited to begin my 4th year teaching Seniors at Northern. I teach Standard English 4, and AP Literature and Composition. I received my Master's Degree from East Tennessee State University in 2013 and have instructed several classes at university and community colleges. When my wife and I moved to Greensboro, I was accepted into Guilford County School's Accelerated Certification Track program and began teaching Nighthawks. I am a proud member of the Instructional Leadership Team, Intervention Support Team, the PTSA, the Senior Portfolio Committee, and advisor for the Tabletop RPG Club.
My teaching philosophy could be surmised in the idea that writing is organized and communicated thought. Therefore, if I can help a person become a better writer, then I can help them become a better thinker. There is nothing that our graduates can leave and do with their lives that would not be improved by being better thinkers. I have a passion for great literature and I love sharing that passion with others.
