Emily was a senior here at Southeast, president of our FCCLA club, Varsity lacrosse player, and all round amazing student when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2008.  She fought a long battle, and her last wish was that her parents help other families going through this struggle.  Emily’s Kids Foundation is an organization that hands out gift cards for expenses that are not covered by insurance such as gas, parking, and food.  Every hospital charges parents to park when they visit their child.  Emily’s longest stay at the hospital was 43 days, where her mom never left her side, but had to pay to park at the hospital.  Emily’s cupcakes started our first year, in 2009 by Mrs. Cathy Garrett and  Valerie Williams, to help raise money to cover these costs.  Our goal this year is 3,000 cupcakes at $1 a piece.  Every bit of that dollar will go to Emily’s Kids Endowment Fund at Brenner’s Children’s hospital. 

We would love for you to help us support Emily’s Kids Endowment Fund and to spread the word to others who might be willing to support.  Even if you don’t eat cupcakes, you can still donate. We also deliver to anyone in Guilford County.  All deliveries for students will be made to their second block classes. Please encourage students to preorder!
