• Hello!

I am Ms. Rutz and I teach Social Studies here at Ragsdale High School. In semesters past, I have taught Honors, Inclusion and Standard Civics, Economics, and Personal Finance as well as Honors American History II. I am also the faculty chair for Girls Exemplifying and Modeling Success, or GEMS. Check out the Ragsdale Club page on our school website for more information about GEMS and the amazing activities we do together.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology from the University of Mary Washington in my home state of Virginia. After moving to the Triad of North Carolina, I went back for my Master's Degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I taught for the UNCG Libraries Special Collections and University Archives for Community Instruction Program on Primary and Secondary Source Research and had the opportunity of being apart of the Honor Society for Education- Kappa Delta Pi, as well as the nation's oldest Academic Honor Society for all academic disciplines, Phi Kappa Phi. During my time at UNCG, I was placed at Ragsdale for student teaching and have been proud to be a Tiger ever since!

I know that we'll be facing a different semester, and possibly year ahead - but I am ready and excited for us to face this challenge together.
