I began my teaching career in Pearsall, TX teaching a 2nd grade class. After a while, I graduated and began teaching 4th and 5th grades. I have been teaching in Guilford County schools since 1989. I have taught at Peeler Open Elementary where I was recognized as “Teacher of the Year”, General Greene where I received a “Science Teacher of the Year” award, and Montlieu Elementary schools. I also taught for a brief time in the UK through a teacher exchange program. Feeling the need for a change, I have taught the past 11 years at Kiser Middle school. I have enjoyed teaching 6th grade science and some social studies. I love to spend time mentoring beginning teachers in the profession. I currently sponsor the Energy Wise Club and the Chess Club at Kiser. After school hours I love hanging out with friends and co-workers, playing tennis, biking, hiking, and exploring different places in this part of the country with my family.
