Dekota L. Marshall is a 2010 graduate of East Carolina University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Interpersonal/Organizational Communications. During his time at ECU, Dekota was an outstanding member of the Pirate Football Team from 2007-2010, earning accolades such as the Jerry T. Brooks Award for academic achievement and the Defense’s Effort Award.

In 2015, Dekota embarked on his entrepreneurial journey by founding two businesses: 1st and Goal Hauling, Inc. and Marshall Financial Services. As a Certified Licensed Insurance Representative, he provides life insurance and annuity products through Marshall Financial Services. Meanwhile, 1st and Goal Hauling, Inc. has flourished, boasting a fleet of over 15 dump trucks that haul aggregate, rock, and sand across North and South Carolina. The company is certified as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) in NC and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise in NC, SC, MD, and Ohio. Additionally, Dekota serves as a PO Prime Contractor with NCDOT, pursuing projects worth over $5,000,000, and is recognized as a Small, Women, and Minority (SWAM) Business in Virginia.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dekota is passionate about giving back to the community. He enjoys public speaking to football teams nationwide, serves on the Pirate Club Executive Committee, and is pursuing a spot on the ECU Alumni Association Board of Directors. His firms generously donate school supplies and equipment to local churches in Jacksonville and Charlotte, NC.

Dekota currently resides in Charlotte with his fiancée Ashley and their two young children, KJ and Zhuri. His motto, “It’s A Touchdown Every Time!” reflects his drive for success and excellence in all aspects of life.
