Mr. Bennie Bradley

I find it an extreme honor to serve you as principal of Oak View Elementary School for the 2024-25 school year. My journey to Oak View started upon my graduation from Nurnberg American High School, a Department of Defense school, in Nurnberg, Germany, and then attending the University of South Carolina. It was here that I obtained my undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management. I moved to Greensboro in 2000 and worked at Staples as a traveling sales and operations manager.

I was transferred to the Staples in High Point and began volunteering with a program called “Reading is Fundamental”. It was this program that first brought me into schools. During my lunch break I read stories to Kindergarten students. From here, I was encouraged to pursue a career in education to be a leader growing future leaders. I made the career change and became a long-term substitute teacher at Fairview Elementary.  After two years, I was blessed to transition to Otis L. Hairston Sr. Middle School in Greensboro, where I was a Business teacher for 8 years (2005-2012). I then went on to teach Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Fashion Merchandising at Ben L. Smith High School for one year (2013).  It was my principal at Ben L. Smith High School that encouraged me to become a principal.

Later in 2013, I was accepted into the Piedmont Triad Leadership Academy (PTLA), as an admin intern for a year at Cone Elementary. I then transitioned to Southwest Middle School as an assistant principal for 5 years (2014-2019).  Later in 2019, I had the opportunity to lead Guilford Preparatory Academy as principal (2019-2021).

Once I arrived at Oak View I have challenged staff, scholars, parents, and guardians to “Be the Example”. “Be the Example” means, using the positive leadership experiences you have learned to make the lives of others better through love, servitude, listening, and encouragement in action.

During my spare time, I also serve as the head coach for the High Point Blaze Track Club (an AAU youth track and field organization) for 14 years. Through this team, students have gained scholarships for higher education and have competed at the Junior Olympics.
