I am delighted to have your child be a part of the learning experience in my class this year. I am a true believer that a strong cooperative effort between home, school, and students is the ONLY way to achieve the highest level of success for your child. Course Overview
During this 8th grade science year your child will cover a number of topics; Geological Time & Evolution, Hydrosphere, Ecology, Microbes & Infectious Diseases, Matter(Chemistry), & Energy Resources. This is an EOG tested course. So keeping up with all the notes and resources given throughout the year is crucial for your child’s achievement, since the test is cumulative.
BECOMING A CANVAS OBSERVER AND SIGNING UP TO POWERSCHOOL WILL BE AN IMPORTANT TOOL FOR YOU TO ENSURE YOUR SCHOLAR’S GROWTH, PROGRESS, & SUCCESS!!!

***NOTE: There will be periodic quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, lab investigations, and research projects, notebook checks, etc., given throughout the school year. Rubrics explaining procedures, expectations, and requirements will be distributed accordingly.
