Teachers earning National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification or completing the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification process receive 8 renewal credits. Educators who complete the ten year national board renewal cycle may earn two credits.  Awarding of the NBPTS credits is handled through the Human Resources Department.  Please visit the employee handbook, the NBPTS page, or the Human Resources department page for instruction on how to submit your proof of completion to the Human Resources department.

The specific requirements you must fulfill are related to the licenses you hold and your current teaching assignment.  Please work with your staffing specialist to determine the correct designation for your licensure renewal (K-5, 6-8, etc).  The professional learning office can provide updates on the number of credits you currently have awarded or suggest courses you can attend but we are unable to advise you on your specific license requirements.
